Clarifying Misunderstandings: I’m Not Staring at You

I’m Not Somebody who Stares at People

There will be times when it looks like I’m staring at you. Let me assure you, that’s not the case. I’m not someone who stares at people. When I’m looking in your direction, there’s usually something beyond you that I’m interested in.

The Real Reason

I’m waiting for you to move so I can see what I need to see. It’s on you to understand that as long as you’re in the way, it might seem like I’m staring at you. But trust me, you’re not the focus of my gaze. Honestly, I could not care less about you.

Personal Anecdote

There was a time I thought a guy had a prosthetic arm, and I found it interesting. I reminded myself not to stare because it’s not polite. As it turned out, he was just carrying a fork. I felt it was okay to stare then, but I chose not to. Just like I don’t want people staring at my foot because I have a prosthetic toe, I try to be mindful of others.

Avoid Misunderstandings

So, if it looks like I’m staring at you, understand that it’s not about you. I’m just looking at something behind you. Please move so I can see it, and let’s avoid any misunderstandings.
